Dynamic Emotional Integration® is an approach that helps you reconnect with your emotions in a way that allows you to access their wisdom.
The approach focusses on
education: helping you understand why you have emotions in the first place
de-pathologising and de-stigmatising: making having emotions less scary
action: suggesting techniques that support you in acting on what your emotions call for
regulation: helping you support yourself in the face of emotions
I have found that the ability to understand emotions increases our ability to be with emotions (our own and other people’s emotions). It also increases our ability to act in accordance with what is importance to us.
For example:
Frustration or anger serves as an indicator that something that something is important to us.
Sadness serves as an indicator that something that is important to us is ending.
Fear serves as an indicator that something has changed and that we should pay attention to it.
These examples show that the ability to connect with uncomfortable emotions and listen to what they’re trying to signal is an essential skill to navigate our everyday challenges.
I’m a licensed Dynamic Emotional Integration® facilitator and trainer and incorporate this knowledge into all my work. I often see people struggle with situations that bring up a number of (often conflicting) emotions, and my work provides techniques to help disentangle the emotions - thus making them less overwhelming and easier to act on.
